Choose Remote Control
Use it when you want Claude’s conversation UI on another device while keeping your exact local files, MCP servers, credentials, and machine configuration.
Claude Code Remote Control is excellent when you want your phone to reach the Claude process on your computer. Terminalbox solves a different problem: the work runs on a hosted machine, so your laptop can sleep, shut down, or stay home.
The Claude process and project stay local. If the machine sleeps, execution waits.
The browser can disappear while the hosted process and tmux session keep running.
Use it when you want Claude’s conversation UI on another device while keeping your exact local files, MCP servers, credentials, and machine configuration.
Use it when the task must keep executing after your laptop sleeps, when you want the full terminal remotely, or when several agent CLIs should share one hosted workspace.
The Remote Control facts below follow Anthropic’s official documentation. Product behavior changes quickly, so the source and check date are explicit.
| Question | Claude Code Remote Control | Terminalbox |
|---|---|---|

| What does it cost? | Included with an eligible Claude plan. | From €6/month, plus the provider account you already use. |
Terminalbox is independent from Anthropic. “Claude” and “Claude Code” identify Anthropic’s products; no endorsement or partnership is implied.
Choose Base for one terminal, sign in to Anthropic inside the prepared Linux environment, and clone or upload the repository.
Claude Code, the shell, dev servers, and files now live on Terminalbox infrastructure rather than on the device in front of you.
Open the same pane from a phone, tablet, another computer, or the Terminalbox CLI and continue in the existing terminal session.
Remote Control reconnects after the computer comes back online, but Claude Code still runs on that computer. A sleeping or powered-off laptop is not executing the task. Terminalbox runs the process on a hosted machine instead.
No. Terminalbox is an independent hosted terminal product. Claude Code access, authentication, limits, and charges remain under your separate Anthropic account.
Only when the task needs to continue without your laptop. Remote Control is a better fit when the exact local filesystem, MCP servers, and machine configuration matter more than laptop independence.
Terminalbox gives you a full Linux shell, so you can use supported Claude Code features from the hosted environment when your Anthropic plan and current CLI version allow them. The browser terminal itself remains available regardless of provider-specific remote features.
Base is €6/month for one paid pane with 2 vCPU, 4 GB RAM, and a 50 GB persistent workspace. Bring your own Anthropic account.
