Sign in with an email link
Create the free account without a card or password. The dashboard makes the SSH client template available immediately.

Enter a target or save an alias
Connect with a raw target such as user@example.com, or add a reusable host in SSH settings with its port, login name, and trust information.

Return when you need the server again
A free pane pauses after six detached hours to bound idle capacity. Reopening it wakes the pane; your 5 GB workspace and saved SSH configuration remain.

Is the browser SSH client really free?
Yes. A free account includes one SSH client session and a 5 GB persistent workspace without a card. The pane pauses after six hours with no owning browser or CLI attached.
Does SSH run directly inside my browser?
The browser connects to a Terminalbox-hosted Debian pane. The normal OpenSSH client in that pane then makes an outbound SSH connection to your server.
Can I use password and key authentication?
Password authentication works through the normal OpenSSH prompt. You can also save a reusable OpenSSH private key without a passphrase in Terminalbox settings so it can be injected into your panes.
How can I verify the server host key?
Saved host aliases accept known_hosts content. When supplied, OpenSSH uses that trust pin for the alias instead of silently trusting a different host key.
Can I SSH into Terminalbox from my local terminal?
Yes, on a paid plan. The free feature on this page connects outward from a Terminalbox browser pane to a server you control. Paid panes also provide key-only inbound SSH through terminalbox.ai on port 2222.
What do the paid plans add?
Paid plans add a persistent hosted workspace, key-only inbound SSH, 50 GB or more of shared storage, and coding-agent templates for Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, OpenCode, and other tools. Paid sessions continue running while you are detached.
